Three Camps – from “Strube’s Drum and Fife Instructor”, 1869
- Note: I arranged this in sixtuplets to more accurately depict the rolls.
Three Camps – basic accent pattern in triplets
Three Camps – basic accent pattern in sixteenths
- For both the basic triplets and basic sixteenths the applications are endless. You can crush the accents, diddle the accents, flam the accents, play everything but the accents, etc., etc., etc. You are limited only by your own creativity. My suggestion is to print copies and add your own sticking.

Nice site. Bruce and Emmett have 9 stroke rolls in the 3 Camps, not 11s. Strube used 11s in his 1869 book, however, which is probably the way he played it 1861-1863.
