The Tap Pyramid

The Tap Pyramid is a wrist excercise intended to build endurance and consistent stroke control from hand to hand. Some points to remember are:

  • Keep strokes low, especially at increased tempos
  • Focus on wrist motion; strive to minimize and eventually eliminate arm movement
  • Keep taps even with smooth transitions from Right to Left; listen as you play to hear any differences
  • At faster tempos, volume and height should remain consistent on the longer sequences, with no increase in either
