Army 2/4 – from Bruce & Emmett’s “Drummer’s and Fifer’s Guide” (1862), is called “Biddy Oats” in the Bruce & Emmett guide. The second part, which does not appear in the “Drummer’s and Fifer’s Guide,” is a traditional addition often referred to as the Doubling or Fill. In the Doubling/Fill, Flamacues are replaced with sextuplets.
